Meet the captain

Captain Jake Burgy

Captain Jake has been sailing Lake Erie since he was 14 years old. Holding a USCG Master 100 ton Captain license, he has sailed the Great Lakes, the Caribbean, and has completed "The Great Loop" A 6,000 mile expedition sailing from Lake Erie to Key West, and back. Both traveling the Mississippi River system and the open ocean of the east coast. While in Key West Capt. Jake sailed numerous charter yachts throughout the Florida Keys and Dry Tortugas. 

In addition to sailing, Capt. Jake retired after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force. Having served two tours in Iraq and one in Estonia. During this time he has been a F-16 fighter Crew Chief, a Combat Survival Specialist/Parachute rigger, and a Combat Engineering Heavy Equipment Operator.

He has a deep love and passion for the water, and enjoys sharing that passion with others. He will be happy to put you at the helm when conditions allow.
